Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Developed by Laney Rosenzweig, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a revolutionary approach to trauma treatment that integrates elements of traditional psychotherapy with innovative techniques designed to rapidly alleviate distressing symptoms. ART is grounded in the understanding that trauma is stored in the brain as unprocessed memories, which continue to trigger distress long after the initial event has passed. By accessing these memories through guided visualization and utilizing rapid eye movements similar to those seen in REM sleep, ART enables individuals to reprocess traumatic memories and replace them with more adaptive responses.

Are you someone who has experienced trauma and does not like the uncertainty of how long therapy will take to heal your symptoms? We understand that experiencing ongoing symptoms of trauma, like constantly being stuck in fight or flight, and having flashbacks make it difficult to accept that "it takes the time it takes" when it comes to attending therapy. While that approach may work for some, if you prefer an approach that has been shown by research to more quickly allow the processing of trauma, our 6-week Accelerated Resolution Therapy Intensive may be right for you.

The program runs for 6 weeks, with each weekly session lasting approximately 50 minutes. To get started, you would schedule a free treatment consultation, at which time our provider would determine if this intensive is the right fit for you.

Jenna Ciancanelli, LAC offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) services. ART is a revolutionary therapy that uses evidence-based techniques to treat a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other trauma-related issues.

We use ART to help clients rapidly and effectively process traumatic memories and emotions. ART combines elements of traditional talk therapy, visualization techniques, and elements of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals release negative emotions and beliefs, and replace them with positive, adaptive ones.

ART is based on the idea that the mind and body are interconnected, and that traumatic experiences can create a negative imprint on both. By addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of trauma, ART can help individuals overcome traumatic memories and move towards healing and recovery.

During ART sessions, clients are guided through a structured process that involves visualizing traumatic memories while engaging in eye movements or other bilateral stimulation. This helps to activate the brain's natural healing processes and reduce the emotional intensity of the memories.

Through the ART process, clients often experience a sense of clarity and resolution, and are able to move past the negative emotions and beliefs that were holding them back. ART can help individuals develop a new perspective on traumatic events, and empower them to move forward in their lives with greater confidence and resilience.

At BrainBody Wellness Counseling, we provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions and experiences without judgment. Our therapists are trained in ART and other evidence-based techniques, and work with clients to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their unique needs and goals.
