Counseling offered by BrainBody Wellness focuses on integration of brain function, body response, nutrition (within scope, referrals provided if necessary), lifestyle, and psychological factors. 

We treat individuals across the lifespan for:

Learn to take control of your biological response to stress! Biofeedback teaches you to access and alter biological functions. It takes information from your body (bio) and reads it on a computer screen (feedback). You then learn techniques to alter or change the feedback to more healthy patterns. These techniques have been shown to be incredibly effective in learning to manage emotions and reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, pain and insomnia. 

Currently, we primarily offer Heart Rate Variability (HRV) biofeedback. HRV allows us to glimpse into the functioning of the nervous system and practice skills to manage it. We also offer galvanic skin response and temperature biofeedback (these are other biological markers of the sympathetic, also known as fight/flight, nervous system). 

Biofeedback teaches ways to improve the body's response to stress and has been empirically shown to help with anxiety, depression, pain as well as a number of other disorders.
