FAQS
Starting Therapy
-
We start by scheduling a free treatment consultation by phone with the counselor of your choice. You can do this by completing our therapist match form or click here to book this call directly on our website. This is to make sure both you and the counselor feel the fit is right to move forward with treatment.
For children and teens, this phone call is with the parent. We find determining fit for children is much more helpful in person and during the intake than briefly over the phone. We do want to speak with parents, however, to ensure the clinician is the best fit for the child before completing an intake.
The phone call will last approximately 10 minutes and will go over the basics for why you are seeking support and treatment options. You will have the option to schedule an intake at this time if you both decide it sounds like the right fit.
-
During your initial session, our holistic counselors conduct a thorough intake to understand your mental, emotional, and physical wellness goals. We explore your history, current challenges, and lifestyle factors.
Please note, the intake is very different than follow-up sessions as it is mostly consisting of gathering information and asking questions.
You will clarify treatment goals with your clinician during this session.
-
The frequency of therapy depends on your individual needs. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to address anxiety, depression, or trauma and gradually adjust to bi-weekly or monthly visits as progress is made. Our holistic approach ensures that each session is personalized, combining traditional talk therapy with root cause therapies such as EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Brainspotting, Exposure and Response Prevention, and more, to maximize emotional and mental health benefits.
-
Starting therapy is a positive step if you’re experiencing persistent stress, anxiety, depression, or difficulty coping with life challenges. In holistic mental health therapy, our licensed counselors assess your unique needs and create a personalized plan that will focus on both general coping skills and identifying root causes of emotional distress.
You don’t have to have a formal clinical diagnosis or significant distress to see one of our counselors. We believe that the skills and work we do with our clients can benefit anyone looking to better manage their emotional distress, whether it’s workplace stress or clinical depression.
-
Holistic counseling is a form of mental health therapy that addressed root cause of mental health distress.
We recognize symptoms like anxiety, overthinking, or depression to be caused by deeper root causes, such as repressed emotions and core beliefs. We know the importance of utilizing these approaches along with treating symptoms through using skills like diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, or cognitive reframing.
Through using therapies that change the way the brain relates to emotional distress, you can learn to flow more effectively with negative emotions and experience greater peace in life.
We also love to collaborate with treatment teams and work often with psychiatrists and other physicians.
-
Yes we do! Please fill out our therapist match form indicating you would like after school and/or weekend appointment and we will match you with the appropriate clinician who has that availability.

Our team is made up of highly trained Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Associate Counselors (LACs), and psychologists. Each clinician specializes in different therapeutic approaches, including holistic counseling, EMDR, brainspotting, CBT, ACT, DBT, and ERP therapy. This allows us to tailor treatment to your individual needs while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.

Our therapists also support clients with stress management, life transitions, and personal growth. -
Our practice integrates holistic counseling with evidence-based psychotherapy. In addition to EMDR, brainspotting, ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT, we incorporate techniques that address the mind-body connection, such as mindfulness, biofeedback, and lifestyle-based stress reduction strategies. This whole-person approach allows us to treat not only symptoms but also the underlying causes of emotional pain.
-
Beginning therapy with us is simple. Contact our office to schedule an intake session with one of our licensed clinicians. During your first appointment, we’ll explore your mental health history, current challenges, and goals. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan that may include EMDR therapy, brainspotting, CBT, ACT, DBT, or holistic counseling techniques. Our goal is to provide effective, compassionate care that helps you move beyond symptoms and toward true emotional healing.
